BouletBoulet

John Boulet has studied flamenco guitar in Spain and the United States since 1981. From his flamenco roots he has branched into jazz and folk using a nylon string guitar. John is a prolific singer and songwriter, blending various styles and influences to create BouletBoulet's unique sound.

Establishing a repertoire including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Bartok and Ravel, Lenore Boulet studied classical piano at Buffalo University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Piano Performance. She has since focused on flamenco and jazz, infusing flamenco rhythms and themes into her music. In addition to playing the piano, Lenore studies flamenco dance and plays the cajon, a flamenco percussion instrument.

John and Lenore have been playing music together since 1994, collaborating on compositions. In July 2006, they attended the Gerardo Núñez Flamenco Class in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain. John studied guitar with Gerardo Núñez, and Lenore studied cajon with Angel Sanchez “Cepillo,” Gerardo's percussionist.

In the second half of the program, this month's special Profusion guests will be poet Charles B. Woolverton and trumpeter/vocalist Sean E Cooney.
