Formed in 2006 in Takoma Park, MD, the Silver Lights mix popular rock and Hip Hop while maintaining a reflective view of life through music. What sets the band apart as performers and recording artists is the synergy created by its members, who come from backgrounds as hip-hop beat producers, rock musicians, and classically trained pianists. As a result, audiences are often surprised at the breadth of genres the band is able to bring to their highly original musical approach and energetic live show. The Silver Lights began as a production team, combining programmed Hip-Hop beats with live instruments. Their accessible mix of rock instrumentation and hip-hop rhythm has become their defining sound.
