Hot fare this month at Inwood Coffeehouse with Lon Ephraim and The Twilight Little Big Band. This phenomenal group includes members of The Navy Commodores, The Army Blues, and The Army Concert Band, bringing you tasty portions of your favorite jazz standards and New Orleans stylings along with some of Lon's original tunes. Bring your friends and an appetite for fun!
Lon Ephraim-- guitarist, singer, composer, arranger, and teacher--spent a number of years as a band leader before concentrating his energies on studio performance and musical arrangement. His playing and arrangements can be heard on recordings by Jon Simon, Robyn Helzner, and two-time Grammy Award winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer. Two recent musical collaborations have been with radio personality Flo Ayers on a children's music project, and with the Washington-area chorus Zemer Chai for which he performed producer duties and provided instrumental settings for several tunes in their new recorded collection. Committed to arts education, Lon teaches music to incarcerated and homeless children for Montgomery County Public Schools' Department Of Alternative Programs. He is also developing a comprehensive music-education web site with "Dance Place" director Carla Perlo.
