Inwood Coffeehouse presents a night of
classic country music with

Karen Collins and the Backroads Band

Karen Collins - vocals, fiddle, and rhythm guitar
Ira Gitlin - lead guitar and vocals
Greg Hardin - bass and vocals
Rob Howe - drums

One of the Washington area's top honky tonk bands, The Backroads Band plays classic country music like it was played back then. Their sound is vintage country from the 1940s-1970s plus original roots songs written in that early country style. Karen's CD Backroads and Bayous just received 4 WAMMIE nominations from the Washington Area Music Association. Positive reviews keep rolling in :

"Karen Collins has one of those classic country voices. She is one of those artists who specialize in digging up rarely sung classics." - Blue Suede News - Summer '04

"Think Dolly Parton before she went Dollywood or the good clean fun of the Oh Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack." - Takoma Voice - December 2004

"Her Americana texture, more corduroy than silk, creates a resonant roots vibe anyone can get down to. " - Indie-Music.com - January 2005
